I created a design for the Tacoma Catholic worker intersection mural in Tacoma. The sunflower is a symbol of the community, and I was asked to make a flower the theme of the mural and create a design that would be simple enough for the community to paint together during their summer block party where neighbors were invited.

The bright colors represent the colorful diverse community, and the overlapping design in the center illustrates the network of care and overlapping of serves they offer for people in need.

Many adults and children participated in the painting of the mural, which included  small painted footprints running through the middle from the children who helped paint! This next year we plan on adding to the mural during the Catholic Worker 2016 block party.

I also designed and screen printed a T-shirt for the Tacoma Catholic Workers 2015 auction.

I was asked by Manitou Park Presbyterian Church in Tacoma to design a T-shirt for their 2015 summer art camp for youth in South Tacoma. I was asked to incorporate the theme, "what a wonderful world" and allow for a T-shirt design that would use one color. 

At the camp we screen printed the T-shirts with 30 of the children who participated. They painted the poster with watercolors while waiting their turn to print their shirt. 

The next day of the camp we made prints out of a styrofoam plate. The children drew with a pencil on the styrofoam and block printed their design on cards. They enjoyed seeing their creations come to life, and I was delighted to see the creativity of each one. 

This interactive mural was located on an active corner in downtown Tacoma that needed a little love. The building has sat vacant for at least 10 years but the frame of the building is in tact and it was once a vibrant market on a bustling corner of downtown.

Downtown On the Go, the group that organized the project, also wanted to enliven a corner of downtown while gathering meaningful feedback about downtown Tacoma. Participants were invited to fill in the blank with chalk on the mural.

With a small budget I designed the mural and created stencils for a team of volunteers to paint. The project was a huge success and has inspired other works of art in this space.

Love Tacoma Lane was a space in Downtown Tacoma that need some love and care. Myself and a group of concerned citizens gathered together to create an interactive art piece in a chain-link walkway. Pedestrians were encouraged to write on a card what they love about Tacoma and attach it to the fence. 

I designed the logo and introduction board as well as a few collateral pieces explaining the project.  

I created the first diorama as an example for a project I did with students from Seattle University. I went along with a retreat where I lead students in an art exercise. The dioramas were to express something that reminds you of your goals or dreams, to create a world you would like to live in, or something that reminds you of where you find the fullness of life.

I lead a project on a retreat with students from Seattle University. The art project project went with the theme of the spiritual retreat, "Rooted with Wings". After completing a journal exercise the students used natural materials to create a theme that they were exploring.
